Congrats to the Vikings...the NFC North champions!!!! When the Packers lose to the Bucs and the Bears get crushed by the Cardinals, then you know it's your year. Gotta now start thinking of getting the home field advantage throughout the playoffs! Games that worry me the rest of the way: the 2 Chicago games, at Arizona, and at Carolina.

It was really the only reason to watch the Bucs in the 70's and 80's.

Took my kids and some of the neighborhood boys out on the town Friday. First to Hooters and then to the Wolves. Best line of the night from my 9 year old who is a Hooters veteran. "The service is great and I like their uniforms."

This squad is going to be a huge work in progress. It will be nice to get Love back. I like Gomes in spurts but there are little signs that Corey Brewer will be any sort of perimeter threat. It's going to get a lot uglier before it gets better. But Flynn is the real deal...worth the price of admission.

Went to TCF Stadium for the first time on Saturday. Simply spectacular! Too bad the Gophs played miserably against lowly Illinois. What's your reaction to this statement? "The Gophers are serious contenders to play in the Little Caeser's Bowl in Detroit.".

Went to the Wild vs Stars on Saturday. Wild scored their first
shorthanded goal of the season. Both teams put goals in their own net. The guys were in really good spirits after the game. They all said being more aggressive in the first period paid off. Interesting road trip coming up. Can't afford to lose to struggling Toronto but the Leafs gotta be thinking they're do for a win this month.

Pierre Marc Bouchard is still struggling with concussion like symptoms so he sat in the press box with us during the game. I need to ask Mauer why he didn't hang out with me during the month of April.

Love the JJ for GoGo trade. Carlos never showed much baseball IQ with his baserunning skills, approach to the plate, and throws from the outfield. Twins must be hoping the "change of scenary" card will be perfect for Hardy.

Sunday Sports Talk co-host Brad Lane and I have made a bet each of the last two years on the Twins win total vs Brad's team...the Texas Rangers. I easily won last year while Brad won this year by just one game. The loser has to buy the winner lunch at a downtown restaurant that likes to serve you several different types of meat tableside. I am off on Monday so I can nap properly after a big meal. I might just skip the nap and go right into bypass surgery.
